Aslan - King Lion Turquoise

Stolen stolen meme time!

Leave me a comment saying "Sheewaddywaddy"
- I'll respond by asking you five (or so) questions so I can get to know you better.
- Update your journal with the answers to the questions.
- Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.

Here are the questions that I got from [info]mona1990

1. If you could drop everything and go on holiday tomorrow, where you you go tomorrow?
Without a doubt Cornwall.  I love it down there, it's so beautiful and peaceful, so many good memories and yes the locals hate n00bs coming and gegging in, but it's only a holiday.  I know realistically I'll never really live there.

2. Tell me a celebrity you'd love to meet?
Hmmmm...*ponders*refrains from turning it rp related*

I think maybe someone like Keanu Reeves or Patrick Dempsey or Kevin McKidd.

Or Anthony Hopkins.

Or Christopher Lee!

3. If a movie was made of your life, who you want to play you?

Mahahahahaha!

Hmmmm either Rachel Bilson *snorts* or Sophia Bush purely because she has some awesome dimples and I have dimples and artistic license and exaggeration is needed in film. *noddles*

4. And who would you want to play your love interest?
I have to choose just one love interest?

Oh alright.

Ryan Reynolds (who coincidentally I'm linked to by just TWO degrees of seperation.  That's TWO!)

5. Favourite Disney movie?

Ah Disney, it makes me feel all safe and calm inside, like comfort food or a nice hot cup of tea.

My favourite Disney film...it's a tie between Tron, The Black Cauldron, Oliver and Company and The Tale of Natty Gan.

Yes, yes, i know that's four.  I have to choose one only? :-S

Oliver and Co, because of the songs and Tito the chihuahua. Or however you spell it. ^_^

A Picture Worth a Thousand Words

I am more than a little obsessed by art, as you all may well know.  If I could win the lottery, art would be what would keep me busy and from either spending all my time shopping my money away or going mental with boredom.

One of my favourite artists is John William Waterhouse.  He has a specific style that I've not seen anyone emulate successfully ever.

A lot of his work is hanging in the Walker Art Gallery which is luckily enough in Liverpool CIty Centre, so I've spent more than a few afternoons just sitting in front of the painting that I've chosen in particular.

I'm not quite sure what touches me so much about the painting.  Perhaps it's the subject; Echo and Narcissus, the mythology, the ultimate tale of unrequited love.  Perhaps I identify with that.  The look of comeplete longing and regret and sadness on Echo's face.  Or perhaps I just feel that it's a beautiful painting.  Maybe a combination of all of the above ^_^

Anywho, I'll post the pic now :-)

A Song for all Seasons

It was hard to chose a song for I love so many and so many really inspire me, but I will always, always come back to this song.  When i'm happy, sad, stressed, amused - anything, I can listen to this song on repeat.  Forever.

Rob Dougan sounds a little like a very young Chris Rea and the words, god, the words hold so much emotion and meaning.  Hell, if I had half the patience and a spit of the talent needed to make a vid to this song, I so would.

And thus, I leave thee all with my favourite ever song (yes, I can say that truthfully and without question); Furious Angels.

Updateness

So, after two nights of faffing with html codes and what not, I now have a new layout and header image.  Meh, it will do until I have more time to fix it at the weekend.

Mostly it stemmed from my current obsession with Wuthering Heights' most recent TV adaptation (brilliantly and blindingly brought to life by Tom Hardy, Charlotte Riley, Andrew Lincoln and Sarah Lancashire...amazing cast if ever I saw one)

Can I have just a moment to fangirl, please?  I've always loved Tom Hardy and I've had a love affair with Andrew Lincoln ever since Afterlife, but I've only just discovered the awesomeness of Riley.  She's fantastic and her chemistry with Hardy on screne is amazing.  Of course this is likely down to the fact that they worked together on The Take (which I really need to watch) but whatever it is, it makes for a fantastic re-telling of one of my favourite books (it's tied with Jane Eyre and Her Benny ^_^ )

In other news, work is really busy but a laugh.  Hayley has moved downstairs with me and the Bitchness has moved upstairs and will most likely announce that she is expecting any day now. *rolls eyes* We're having an in-flux of volunteers (2 new troubled teen lads, one of whom is argumentative but enthusiastic and one who keeps skiving off, and a new woman who will cover reception on monday mornings 9am to 1pm while I go down into the scary-ass basement and start work on the 30 years worth of paper archives.  Of course I'll be training her for a month or so before I let her loose on the general public, but yeah.  We also have two other volunteers who've been with us a lot longer, Barony and Henry.).  They're not so bad, but we're questioning why the Director keeps taking them all in.  Oh well, it is not for us mere mortals to question. ^_^

Looking forwards to seeing Dorian Grey with Hayley on Friday night.  It's her favourite ever film and so she's excited about seeing the new version and me, well i'm going to oggle Barnsey and The Firth. :-D

A great start to the weekend it shall be methinks.

French Fancies!

That friday feeling

God am I knackered!  Yesterday was exhausting.  Felt like my feet never touched the ground.

Work has been scarily busy over the past week as the Director has been working on an application for some new funding for us (£750,000.00 worth to be exact, so it's a big deal) and I've been ringing the other two companies that we're working in conjunction with on the Feasibility Study getting all the little bits and pieces and statistics that she needed for the report.  *Sighs*

But I soldiered on and did it because yesterday was friday and that evening I was due to be going to Nandos with my family and littlest sister's bestie, Chloe who was coming for a day out and then a sleep over.

It had been agreed at the beginning of the week that I would nick off work early (as was discussed with Manager and agreed) and I was to pick up brother from the trainstation, whip home to change and then head off to Cheshire Oaks for our table at 6ish.

...I left work at half past 6 and if my manager hadn't told the Director that I was out for a meal and told me to go, I would've still been there at 9.

The Director needed my help to put all the pictures into her report and then add the Technical Team Leader's report and then someone else's report in to it.  i did all the appendices, the statistic tables, the formatting, the spell checking, everything!  I compressed everything.  And without me I know she wouldn't have been able to get it finished (the closing date for submission is tuesday) and I think she did kind of see that I was a valuable asset and that I know a hell of a lot more than just how to answer a phone and tell someone they can go up to the third floor.

Perhaps it will help her decision if Preggers Girl ever comes back.  Perhaps she thinks it was part of my job to help her anyway.  I don't know.

I didn't mind helping her, course not.  I'll help anyone in need if I can.  But it's that she never ASKED me, she just assumed I would anyway.

I had my Dad ringing me asking where the hell I was and then Director saying (when I told her my Dad was mad because I wasn't there to pick up my brother) "How old is your brother?  Can't he get home himself?"...which I agree with, but that's not the point.  The point is, is that it wasn't HER place to say that.

Gah.

And we may not even get the stupid funding.  But if we do I am SO expecting a raise!

Mum wants me to look else where for work and hell the money is tight, but I get on so well with the likes of my manager and nice co-worker and the tenants.  Leaving doesn't mean that I'll lose touch with them, I know that, but, I don't know.  Can I cope going through being the new girl all over again?  Can I even find a new job?  I suppose it doesn't hurt trying, I'll have this place until may and maybe longer, but just, stress!

I dunno. *waves hand* Will ponder over the weekend.
